Big Daddy Santa originated during the Pandemic in 2020 to support needy families during the Advent Season. This effort was featured on Facebook as Big Daddy Santa "Twelve Days of Christmas, Give Love at Christmas!" Although efforts had been made in previous years, this is when the organization was formally established. In the first year, 5 families were blessed with a $200.00 gift card each; in years two and three, 7 families were able to smile on Christmas morning.
In 2023, under the leadership of Rev. Anthony Felder Sr., Wayman Chapel AME Church collaborated with Big Daddy Santa to reach out and bless ten families. Each year the number has increased. Our goal is always to surpass the previous year’s mark. In 2024, we answered the call and blessed 22 families across the Houston area.
Our prayer is that God will continue to bless this Ministry and the Vision that He has given to us.
The theme that keeps us going is taken from Galatians 6:9: “And let us not be weary in doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
